Storytelling & Place
Four short films to be premiered throughout WayWORD. Young French film-maker Anais Fourrier follows four North-East storytellers around Aberdeenshire as they tell their lively folktales in situ. Jackie Ross will follow the trail of the Faeries o’ Blelack and the Kelpie of Kincardine O’Neil. Sheena Blackhall will tell us more about the Black Colonel and the creation of the traditional dance named the Reel o’ Tulloch. Join Grace Banks near Dunnottar Castle to explore the rich local history, from the Picts to the Honours of Scotland, and encounter the coastal wildlife! Finally, Pauline Cordiner will take us to a small fishing village north of Aberdeen to relate the story of the Boddam Monkey
The first of these, starring North-East Makar Sheena Blackhall, will be premiered at the North East Voices at the Blue Lamp event as well as uploaded here, with the three others to follow throughout the festival at 5.15pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
