Rare Beasts o Scotland

Join Aaron Gale and Jackie Ross from Doric Books to hear tales of some of Scotland's rare animals. This family session will include tales of flapper skates, wildcats, bees and other endangered Scottish wildlife. Listen to the stories then create your own mask of your favourite animal.

 

Under 6s 11 am-11.45 pm;

Aaron Gale is an author/illustrator and director at Doric Books CIC. He also works as an independent approved driving instructor. He has written and illustrated two books Aul McDonald hid a Fairm and The Tint Aig, and illustrated three others: The Puddock by J.M. Caie; Nae Place Like Hame? by Jackie Ross; and Fitba Legends by Jackie Ross. He is currently working on Jock's Daunder Roon Monymusk, in collaboration with Monymusk Primary School and also his own latest picture book, Foggie Bummer Rescue. Aaron has also had satirical news stories published online and used to run a satirical news website.  

  

Jackie Ross is a director at Doric Books CIC and author of three books, Nae Place Like Hame, Cedric e Flapper Skate and Fitba Legends: Denis Law an Rose Reilly. She is currently working on Jock's Daunder Roon Monymusk, in collaboration with Monymusk Primary School and her second book in the Scottish Endagered Species series, Lossie e Scottish Wildcat. She is also a professional storyteller and enjoys sharing her own stories as well as local and traditional tales.
