ABOUT THE EVENT
Jenn Ashworth was born in Preston and studied at Cambridge and Manchester. Her novels include A Kind of Intimacy, Cold Light, The Friday Gospels and Fell. She was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature in 2018. Renowned for her ability to generate prose of unsettling power and to invoke the shifting and uncertain landscape of the North-West coastline, Ashworth’s narratives oscillate between the uncanny and the ordinary, the mythic and the mundane, haunting and healing, brutality and tenderness, creation and corruption. Her latest book, Notes Made While Falling, is a memoir told in a series of essays published by Goldsmiths Press. She lectures in creative writing at Lancaster University.
