Black Lives Matter: Women and non-binary performance night feat. Jayda David
TIME & LOCATION
ABOUT THE EVENT
Jayda David headlines this showcase of black women and non-binary artists. Through the medium of spoken word, this event features activists speaking truth to power and spreading the anti-racist message of the global Black Lives Matter movement. Jayda David is an emerging young poet and spoken word artist whose poetry centres around social and racial politics, inspired by her life and experiences as a working-class, dual heritage woman. Jayda has performed on London Live, BBC Radio 5 and at The Television Centre for Mental Health Week. She was the winner of Poetic Unity's Black British History Competition 2019.
As well as performing, Jayda also facilitates spoken word workshops, with themes from Identity to Black British History to Mental Health and everything in-between, combining her love of poetry and teaching.
