Thursday 23rd Sept. 11.30am - 12.30pm BST (Online)

A workshop resurrecting the words of women and non-binary poets through the creation of some funky little zines

Gather together to resurrect the words of women and non-binary poets through the creation of some funky little zines. What better  to pursue our adventures in conversing with the dead? The mediums guiding your communication with the other side are two, out of the three, co-directors of Dead [Women] Poets society: Jasmine Simms (poet) and Lily Arnold (artist).

Since 2015 the Dead [Women] Poets Society has been resurrecting women poets of the past in live events (called séances), whether in person or online. Together with third co-director, poet and producer Helen Bowell, they seek to highlight women's astonishing but too-often forgotten literary heritage and open up conversations between living writers and their great-great-grandmothers. They also make zines, commission new work by poets inspired by writers of the past, and get involved in lots of other ghoulish stuff, like guest-editing Modern Poetry in Translation.

Supported by the University of Aberdeen Creative Writing Society
